January 19, 2019 @ 10:00 am March 16, 2019 @ 6:00 pm

The Brigham City Museum of Art & History is pleased to present the exhibition “All the World’s a Stage: Costumes From Utah’s Greats” opening Saturday, January 19, 2019. The exhibition will continue through Saturday, March 16, 2019.

The exclusive exhibition includes costumes designed, made, and used by performing arts companies from around the state including Utah Shakespeare Festival (Cedar City), Ballet West (Salt Lake City), Utah Opera (Salt Lake City), Utah Festival Opera (Logan), and Heritage Theater (Perry). In addition to original costumes, the exhibition features design drawings of some of the costumes, as well as photographs of the costumes and productions they were used in.

Some highlights of the exhibition are the Esmeralda Feast of Fools costume from Utah Festival Opera’s production of The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and The Ghost of Christmas Future from the Heritage Theater’s production of A Christmas Carol.

Additionally, the exhibition will include some sample materials for visitors to touch, and a partially dressed example so visitors can see the structure required for some of the complicated historically inspired costumes.

The museum is located at 24 North 300 West. Hours of operation are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 1 to 5 p.m. on Saturday. The Brigham City Museum of Art & History is northern Utah’s cultural hub, offering temporary exhibitions on art (contemporary and historical) and history. The museum is a department of Brigham City Corporation and receives additional support from the Box Elder Museum Foundation.
