Gallery Talk and Reception with Jon Wassom

October 26, 2019 @ 8:00 am 10:00 am

It’s a Gallery Talk & Reception at the Brigham City Museum of Art & History! Join us on Saturday, October 26 from 2:00 to4:00 PM as we welcome Jon Wassom, a featured artist in our current exhibition “Contemporary Illustration”.

Jon Wassom’s art reflects his love affair with art and texture. His paintings are shallow color sculptures full of intuitive mark making. Each piece represents his abstract response to his perception of the natural world, the man-made world, and the cosmos.

Don’t miss your chance to meet Jon and learn more about his approach to art and his technique!

Also featured in our current exhibition are Eisner winning artists Jill Thompson and Gene Ha, industry giant Sal Velluto, visionaries Chuck Pyle and Patric Reynolds, local favorites Ned Young and Mark Meyers, and a traveling exhibit from the Cache Celebration of Women’s Suffrage 2020 Committee, in partnership with Better Days 2020, with illustrations by Brooke Smart and curation by Gail Griswold.

The museum is located at 24 North 300 West. Hours of operation are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 1 to 5 p.m. on Saturday. Guided tours are available on Wednesdays at 11:00 AM and 3:30 PM and The Brigham City Museum of Art & History is northern Utah’s cultural hub, offering temporary exhibitions on art (contemporary and historical) and history. The museum is a department of Brigham City Corporation and receives additional support from the Box Elder Museum Foundation.
